The intention

This is an opportunity to play and create from the ease and freedom of your own authenticity—to drop into the present moment and into the wisdom of your body and watch what emerges.

It is designed as an antidote to the overculture that thrives on relentless pressure to perform and produce in ways that deplete our creative energy and that assigns us roles of caretaking, helping, attuning to the needs of others—where we come to believe that our needs, experiences, and voices must be subjugated or silenced.

At the core of this retreat are Gateless Writing and Conscious Dance—methodologies based on cutting-edge neuroscience that move the creative process beyond the conditioned mind to the limitless potential and unique genius inherent in every human. (Read more in FAQs.)

The experience

Each day includes offerings for relaxation, rest, exercise, delicious local food, and creative expression including:

  • Gateless Writing Salons

  • Conscious Dance Sessions

  • Guided Meditation

  • Gentle Yoga  

  • Circle Time for Sharing and Questions

  • Walks/Hikes in Nature

  • Pool and Hot Tub

  • Walk in the Labyrinth

  • Alone Time

  • Individual Body Work (massage, cranial-sacral/energy healing, etc.) with local practitioners (extra cost. scheduled in advance)

  • Private Chef creating healthy meals from organic, local ingredients

Sample Day (all activities are optional)

7am-8am Gentle yoga and guided meditation or hike led by local guide

8am-9:15am Drop-in breakfast

9:30am-12noon Gateless Writing Salon

12 noon-3pm Open time for lunch, relaxation, scheduled body work, etc.

3pm-5pm Gateless Writing Salon or Conscious Dance or Circle

5pm-6pm Open time

6pm-7pm Dinner

7pm-9pm Gateless Writing or Conscious Dance or Circle

The retreat center,

A farmhouse nestled in the hills on the outskirts of the village of Ojai, CA at the foot of the Topa Topa mountains. An indigenous tribe of Chumash, first settled here and gave the name, Ojai, meaning “nest” or “valley of the moon,” They recognized the sacred nature of the land, which lies in an energy vortex 75 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 30 miles east of Santa Barbara. 

Price

The price of the retreat is per person and includes all activities, meals and accommodation. Your total price depends on the type of accommodation you choose and will be reserved on a first come, first served basis.

$3,200-luxury king single. Private bath

$2,750-king or full bed single. Shared bath.

$2,200-double with two twin beds or one king/one twin. Shared bath.

$1,600-shared room with 2-6 twin beds. Shared bath.

There may be a limited number of non-residential spots on request.

Shared accommodation not recommended for participants who snore or have special needs around sleeping.

Minimum 10 and Maximum 15 participants.
